We found the other day that modifying the connection string to add application name could result in promoting the transaction to use DTC.

Verified that scenario works when sharing connection between DbContext and Dbcontext, ObjectContext and ObjectContext, DbContext and ObjectContext. No promotion to distributed transaction for these scenarios.
